Join the mission

You don’t have to go on a mission trip to be involved in Nazarene Missions International(NMI)
Our NMI missions board is made up of mission-minded individuals within the local church. The board helps to guide our work in missions for God locally, regionally and internationally. We are looking for servants with a heart for helping others. God and prayer actually guide our work. Contact any NMI Team member or Larry Howe, NMI President if you are interested in joining our Missions Team.
The NMI Board meets once a month.

Opportunities to Serve!

Native American Christian Academy (NACA)
Our church family currently sponsors children by providing tuition and room and board expenses for the school year.  In addition to our sponsorship we will be sending a Nazarene missions team to NACA as soon as we are able.
Alabaster
The month of February is our Alabaster month. Alabaster funds help provide land for many Nazarene missions projects, and the entire Alabaster Offering goes toward the purchase of land and construction of churches, schools, medical facilities, and homes for missionaries and national workers.
Birthday Bash
A fun filled celebration of birthday months set-up to raise funds for Missions Medical Health Plans globally.
Faith Promise
our annual fundraiser for missions work locally, regionally and internationally. Featured mission speakers and presentations include Saturday evening informal dinner with our speaker. Sunday service of Faith Promise is all missions focused on our work for God. Our featured missions speaker brings the message for both services.

Clothes for the Classroom (C4C)
a ministry born locally is a joint effort within the Valley by churches to help clothe school children in need. Over 700 children served annually by this ministry. Every participant receives jeans, shirt, shoes and socks.

Joel, Kristin and Jackson

Joel and Kristin grew up in Medford, OR and have been married since 2006. Both attended Oregon State University and after college, they lived and worked in Portland, OR, Seattle, WA and San Francisco, CA before moving back to their hometown of Medford in 2014 when their son Jackson was just six weeks old.

While living in San Francisco, both Joel and Kristin worked for Mercy Housing, and this is where they each developed a passion for serving cross-culturally. After moving back to Medford, Joel returned to school at Southern Oregon University and earned his MBA, while Kristin served on staff at New Life Church of the Nazarene, working primarily in Local and Global Missions and Communications. In 2023, she earned her MA in Church and Community from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, TN and was ordained as an Elder in the Church of the Nazarene in May 2024.

Joel and Kristin are excited to have been called to participate in the work of the Nazarene Church on the Eurasia Region. In September 2023, the Burchfiels moved to Lisbon, Portugal after spending almost three years in Amman, Jordan. Joel serves as the Field Finance Coordinator for both the Eastern and Western Mediterranean fields. Kristin serves as the Coordinator for Nazarene Missions Teams and Nazarene Compassionate Ministries for the Portugal District, and is working with local churches on community outreach and engagement. Through their roles, they seek to resource and equip local leaders as they facilitate crucial projects that will greatly impact the lives of many across the region. In their spare time they are usually hanging out at the beach or a local café.
