April and Dan Manning

lead pastors

Pastors April and Dan Manning are the lead pastors at Wenatchee Nazarene Church. Between the two of them, they have over 20 years of ministry experience serving in various settings, such as rural church communities, cross-cultural ministry contexts, denominational administrative support roles, and most recently at a suburban church in Yakima, WA. April and Dan met in the fall of 2013 at Nazarene Theological Seminary, where they were studying to earn their Master of Divinity degrees. In 2016, they married, and a year later moved from Kansas City to Washington. Since then, they have earned their M.Div degrees, been ordained in the Church of the Nazarene, acquired a people-loving corgi, named Dug, and welcomed two children, Phoebe and Finley into their lives. On their off time, they enjoy perfecting the perfect cup of coffee, exploring new cities, hiking and spending time with family.

Karen Sheppard

Karen grew up in the Issaquah/Renton, Washington area.  She started attending the Renton Nazarene Church when she was 2 weeks old and has been active in a Nazarene Church every since.  People ask where she met her husband?  It was in the Renton Nazarene Church when they were babies.  Karen and Tim married in 1993 in Kent, WA.  In 1994, they moved to Wenatchee.  Karen was the church secretary from 1994-2004.  She returned to the church office in 2021 and considers the position a ministry.

Karen now has two grown children and 4 grandsons.   Karen and Tim are active in the church mainly as “caterers” for church functions and retreats.  They enjoy baking/cooking and are happy to watch people enjoy their talents.  Karen has had the pleasure of attending two mission trips to Haiti and hopes to be able to attend more.  Karen enjoys spending time with her husband, kids, grandkids and family.  She loves crocheting, traveling and exploring places that she’s never been.
